Ms. Wheeler recently relocated  her practice from Wilmington, NC to Albuquerque. Her current location satisfies her vision of a healing sanctuary, with a green courtyard filled with trees, a pond and a waterfall.

Ms. Wheeler's mountain view office creates a comfortable private sanctuary for talk therapy, energy healing and play therapy . Younger clients find emotional release in the water or mud tray, through playing with toys or puppets or being held in their caregiver’s lap during sessions. Adults may use guided visualization and breathe aromatherapy oils to support emotional "presence” or place figures in the sand to access unconscious material through the use of symbolic archetypes (figures).

The Therapy Office

This is the area of the therapy office where Ms. Wheeler see adults, does intakes, uses EMDR, plays developmental games with the children, engages clients in discussions and visualization exercises. It is also where parent/child attachment work occurs.

The Play Area

This is the play area of the therapy office . There are hundreds of toys for the children to play with. The play room includes sand tray figures, floor play toys, a doll house, puppets and much more!

Energy Healing

Ms. Wheeler is also trained in various forms of energy healing, including Shamanic soul healing. Clients are also shown how to use crystals and aromatherapy oils as coping skills to manage their difficult emotions.

Puppets can be used for Gestalt play therapy which allows client to work through feelings and relationships in a way that feels safer than talking. This is especially effective with child clients who have trauma and very intense emotions. They can make stories with the puppets while using the EMDR tactile sensors ("buzzies") to release and process negative emotions about events in their lives.
